by appointment only Christmas Caroling In the Hood Friday December 18th K.I.R.M. has created programs that show children that they matter. “Children Matter.” Through the program, we serve hundreds of children yearly. Support include, our annual “Clothing Drive,” providing children and families with clothing, shoes, coats, dishes, food and anything that may be needed in the home. K.I.R.M. provide students with school supplies, via our annual “Back 2 School Rally.” Further, we celebrate the youngsters with our annual “Easter Egg Hunt.” The K.I.R.M. community provides, “Learning Through Building,” allowing youngsters to develop their skill set using their hands. Our “Thanksgiving Basket Give-A-Way,” program provide families who benefits from the gift of a full basket of groceries. Also, K.I.R.M. makes certain that ten children have a Christmas, via our “Secret Santa,” program. Finally, K.I.R.M. exposes children to the world of basketball. We cause children from the inner city to experience the Little Caesars Arena atmosphere, and the Detroit Pistons Basketball Team. Ninety-five percent of the children have never gone to a basketball game. It is the goal of K.I.R.M. to reach as many young people in the inner city letting them know, while showing them “Children Matter.” K.I.R.M. feeds the citizens of the street weekly via the “It Could Be Me,” program. A meal is given to the people who are standing/sitting at the freeway passes or the freeway underpasses. The question ask by Jesus Christ is what drives this program is. “When I was hungry, did you feed me?”
